Camper van inverter kits
Camper van inverter kits allow you to install a Victron Phoenix inverter as part of your campervan electrical system. A Phoenix inverter converts the 12V DC current from your battery into 230V AC current. This allows you to power appliances that run off mains electricity from your leisure battery.
All of our van inverter kits include everything you need to fully connect the inverter to an off-grid electrical system. So, as well as the inverter itself, we also supply consumer units, as well as all cables, lugs, fuses and fuse holders. Simply select the size inverter you need, and then choose any variables such as whether to include an isolator switch or smart functionality.
Not only that, but all of our kits come with a free sub-system wiring diagram and installation guide. This explains exactly how to connect all the components, as well as how to correctly configure the settings. So, you can be confident in installing your system yourself.
What size inverter do I need for my camper van?
The size of your inverter is determined by the combined power draw of all the mains appliances you’ll be using at any one time. What is a pure sine wave inverter?
Inverters are differentiated into two groups by how they reproduce the AC electricity that comes out of your sockets at home. These two groups are called quasi-sine wave inverters and pure sine wave inverters.
Quasi-sine wave inverters are less versatile, as they can impact the performance of certain kinds of appliances, and some appliances may not work at all. This is reflected in their lower price. A pure sine wave inverter perfectly reproduces the AC electricity that mains devices expect, meaning that all appliances will work at full capacity and performance. Additionally, pure sine wave inverters tend to be quieter than quasi-sine wave inverters. You can read more about pure and quasi-sine wave inverters here.

What does a camper van inverter kit typically include?
Our kits include every single component you need to fully install the subsystem within your campervan electrical system. So, as well as the main component, all cable, lugs, fuses, etc. are included.
There are some variables to choose from on our kits. For example, if you will connect to busbars or a Lynx Distributor – this will affect the required fuses for your system. We also give you the choice of whether to include smart functionality and an isolator switch. So there may be some variation versus what you see below. However, this should give you a good idea of what’s included in each kit.
