Consumer Unit – 25A RCD, 10A & 6A MCB
A consumer unit is used as a AC distribution point for 230V in a campervan electrical system.
This model contains a single Type A 25A RCD, as well as 2 double pole MCBs – 1x 10A and 1x 6A.
This consumer unit can be used with an inverter or battery charger, or two can be used with a MultiPlus inverter/charger.

- 1x 10A MCB
- 1x 6A MCB
Consumer unit – use cases
A single consumer unit can be used in a 12V electrical system with an inverter or battery charger. If you have an inverter, the inverter 230V output would be wired into the RCD, and any 230V appliances or plug sockets would be wired to the MCB outputs. If you have a battery charger, the shore power inlet would be wired into the RCD, and your battery charger and any 230V plug sockets to work on hook up would be wired into the MCB outputs.
Two consumer units can be used in a 12V electrical system with a MultiPlus inverter/charger. The shore power inlet would be wired into the first RCD, and one of the MCB outputs would be connected to the inverter/charger AC input. The other MCB output can be wired to any non-inverter loads. The AC output would then be wired to the second consumer unit. Any inverter loads would then be wired from the second consumer unit MCB outputs.

The unit itself is well made and conforms to the latest regs. However, I scratched my head for a while, because the wiring diagram supplied with it is drawn incorrectly. Fortunately, the part that is drawn wrong, in the top of the unit, is fixed in place and can’t be moved. Not good though.

We don’t supply a wiring diagram with this consumer unit, so it must have been included by the manufacturer. I’ve tried to contact you via email to discuss this further so we can ensure the issue is resolved but I didn’t hear back from you, please could you provide more details? Best wishes
