Dometic PLB40 – Portable lithium battery – 512Wh portable power station – 12V
The Dometic PLB40 is a 12V portable power station with a 512Wh (or 40Ah) capacity. With 2x USB ports, a 12V DC 2 pin connector and a car cigarette lighter port, you can use the portable lithium battery to power your Dometic CFX fridge whilst also recharging mobile phones.

512Wh lithium leisure battery
The Dometic PLB40 has a 512Wh lithium battery. This is equivalent to a 40Ah 12V leisure battery. This battery has a lifecycle of 2000 cycles. After this time the battery capacity will be reduced to ~80% of its total.
Below you can see an example of how long the battery will last charging various appliances:
- Phone – 28 charges
- iPad – 8.5 charges
- Dometic CFX3 45 – 24-48 hours (depending on external temperature)
PLB40 recharging methods
The Dometic PLB40 portable lithium battery can be recharged using a solar panel, a mains plug socket or a 12V car socket. If using a solar panel, you should ensure it has a voltage between 8-25 V and a maximum charging current of 10A.
Recharging times:
- 110W solar panel – 5 hours
- Mains plug socket – 5 hours
- Car cigarette lighter socket – 5 hours
Multiple output ports
The PLB40 features the following output ports:
- 2x 12V USB port1x 12V car cigarette lighter socket
- 1x 12V 2 pin DC port (specifically for powering fridges and cool boxes)
LCD screen
An LCD display allows you to monitor the state of charge and power usage, displaying power in via charging methods and power out from appliance usage.
