This slim, high-efficiency panel is perfect for a wide variety of applications, from grid-tie household systems to off-grid installations where mains power is limited or unavailable.
HIT® Solar Cells
Panasonic’s heterojunction solar cell technology uses ultra-thin silicon layers to reduce losses, giving around 18% more power from the same space than standard mono-PERC solar cells. These slim and high-efficiency panels are ideal for fitting the most solar power into small or irregular spaces.
The reduced losses continue even at higher temperatures, with an industry-leading temperature coefficient of only -0.258% per 1°C. This gives strong performance even in hot weather, when the output from other solar panels starts to fall off.
Water Drainage System
The unique water drainage system of this panel allows rain, snowmelt or sea spray to easily drain off the panel surface, reducing water stains or soiling of the panel surface. This keeps the panel clean, allowing more consistent light through the glass to keep the power output high even after long exposure to harsh conditions.
Long Lifespan
HIT® N-type solar cells have extremely low Light Induced Degradation (LID) and are certified for zero Potential Induced Degradation (PID), reducing annual degradation for good power output over many years. These solar panels are guaranteed for 25 years of good output performance, in addition to the 25-year workmanship warranty – backed by a century-old company, 20 internal tests of durability in extreme conditions, and ratings over 3 times the industry standard. Solar panel mounting options
Depending on your application, solar panels can be mounted in a number of ways. If you have a roof rack you can mount directly to this. Otherwise, you can use the Renogy Z brackets or the Renogy corner mounting brackets to attach your solar panels to the roof of your campervan. Please note that if using the Z brackets, the 305W Victron solar panels require 2 sets per panel.
Solar charge controllers
Once you’ve decided on the size of your solar array, make sure you find the correct solar charge controller! You can calculate your maximum open circuit voltage by adding together the voltages of each of your panels (if wired in series). Your maximum open circuit current will remain the same (when wired in series). Victron charge controllers are sized based on these 2 numbers – e.g. the 100/30 charge controller is suitable for an open circuit voltage up to 100V and an open circuit current up to 30A.
