The Victron Energy Blue Smart Battery Charger allows you to charge your leisure batteries or your starter battery when they are not seeing frequent use to maintain their health and charge. This IP22 model is designed for indoor use, such as fitting permanently to an off-grid electrical system. The smart charger uses a domestic UK 3 pin plug to charge your batteries and also allows you to monitor the batteries using the VictronConnect app and a built-in Bluetooth connection.
The 12/20 model will charge a 12V battery at a current of 20A.
Victron IP22 indoor battery charger – use cases
The Victron Energy Blue Smart IP22 Charger can be used in applications where there isn’t a chance of water ingress, as this model is not waterproof. We would recommend using the IP22 model in an off-grid electrical system as a method of recharging your leisure battery via shore hook up. Recovery of deeply-discharged ‘dead’ batteries
Unlike other brands, the Victron Blue Smart IP22 charger will attempt to recharge a deeply-discharged battery by force-feeding it with a low current. Normal charging will then be resumed as soon as there is sufficient voltage across the battery terminals.
Check the status of your battery remotely
The Blue Smart IP22 is equipped with built-in Bluetooth, so the status of the charger and the battery can be checked on a smartphone, tablet or laptop. All settings of the charger can be configured with the VictronConnect App, which can be downloaded from the app store on Android or iOS devices.
